An upstate New York maker of antibiotics has scored some government incentives to help cover the cost of expanding its plant in Syracuse, which will allow it to more than double its workforce.

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse Industrial Development Agency has approved $1.8 million in tax breaks for a $50 million expansion of Steri-Pharma’s antibiotics manufacturing plant on South West Street.

The Central New York region was awarded $62.2 million for economic development projects during a presentation on Thursday afternoon. Now were are getting new details on where the money will go.
